BankAnalyser User Guide

BankAnalyser is a tool to enable users to analyse data relevant to banks in South Africa. The current release focuses on BA900 data, which is reported monthly to the SA Reserve Bank. These returns disclose each bank’s balance sheets in various aspects. The BankAnalyser database has captured these returns back to 2008 on all 384 lines of the BA900 return and across the various columns (columns usually are for different maturities of liabilities and assets on the balance sheet).

The BankAnalyser tool provides a simple user interface for users to select multiple banks and then choose lines and columns to draw time series together. It allows for various operations to be conducted on these time series leading to graphs showing the data selected. This can then be downloaded in Excel or printed.
